Jio Platforms Limited (“JPL” “we”, “our”, “us”) having its registered office at 101- Saffron, Near Centre Point, Panchwati Rasta 5, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat – 380006, India and its local office at 3rd Floor, Maker Chamber IV, 222 Nariman Point, Mumbai – 400021, operates the ‘JioTV App’ (as defined below) for its users ("you" / "your" / "yourself") who are authorised by JPL and/ or its Affiliates to access the Channel Content (as defined below) via JioTV.
These Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms of Use”) govern all the use of JioTV and the related written materials.
This document is an electronic record, generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures. This Terms of Use is deemed to be published and shall be construed in accordance with the provisions of Rule 3 (1) of the Information Technology (Intermediaries guidelines) Rules, 2011 under Information Technology Act, 2000 that require publishing the rules and regulations, privacy policy and user agreement for access or usage of the Content.
Only persons, who are located within the territory of India, and can form legally binding contracts under Indian Contract Act, 1872 may use the Application and the facilities provided therein. Persons who are "incompetent to contract" within the meaning of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 including un-discharged insolvents etc. are not eligible to use JioTV. If you are under the age of 18 years, you should review this Terms of Use with your parent or legal guardian to make sure that you and your parent or legal guardian understand and agree to it and further if required your parent/legal guardian shall perform or undertake such activities to enter into a legally binding agreement with JPL.
JPL may collect the information as detailed in our privacy policy, the terms of which, are included herein by reference. The details of your information collected and the manner in which it is collected and by whom as well as the purposes for which it will be used is more fully set out in our privacy policy. You are free to choose not to provide this information at any time. However, should you do so, you acknowledge that you will no longer be able to avail and use the Application.
You must read these Terms of Use carefully before accepting the terms and conditions hereof. From time to time, JPL may offer users the opportunity to participate in additional features or services through the Application. You may be required to enter into additional agreements or authorizations before you can access such features or services.
JPL reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove portions of these Terms of Use, at any time. It is your responsibility to check these Terms of Use periodically for changes. Your continued use of the Application following the posting of changes will mean that you accept and agree to the changes.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND ACCEPTED THE TERMS OF USE AND PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE USE OF JIOTV OFFERED BY JPL AND/OR ITS AFFILIATES. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE TERMS OF USE, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ACCESS THE APPLICATION (AS DEFINED BELOW).
“Affiliate” shall mean with respect to JPL, any entity controlling, controlled by, or under common control of such party, whether directly or indirectly through one or more intermediaries and it shall include the past, present and future direct and indirect Affiliates and associates.
“Jio User Account” means such user credentials including user ID and/or password provided by JPL for accessing JioTV.
“Channel Content” means the linear channels, internet channels, catch-up content (for linear and internet channels), VOD content, advertisement, third-party applications link/website link, audio content, audio-visual content, interactive content, texts, photographs, graphics designs, etc. in digital/electronic format etc. including any adaptations thereof, made available to you through JioTV or any third party provider website/application.
“Device” shall mean compatible devices including Internet-enabled devices, now known or later developed, including but not limited to mobile devices, smart phones, phablets, tablets, etc. as approved by JPL.
“Intellectual Property Rights” means all intellectual property rights including, but not limited to, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, service marks, trade names, copyrights and other rights in works of authorship (including rights in computer software), rights in logos and get up, moral and artists’ rights, mask work rights, design rights, trade or business names, domain names, know-how, database rights and all intangible rights and privileges of a similar nature analogous or allied to any of the above in every case whether or not registered or unregistered and all rights or forms of protection of a similar nature in any country.
“JioTV”/”Application means the digital application/website “JioTV” and includes (i) the software application in object code/source code that you may access and download and the scripts, interfaces, graphics, displays, text, documentation and other components/associated data and information made available to you as part of JioTV; (ii) website and (iii) any updates, modifications, or enhancements or any part thereof, as may be provided by JPL at its sole discretion to the application/website.
You shall be entitled to use the Application and have access to such Channel Content only if you have subscribed to the applicable tariff of the telecommunication services offered by our Affiliate, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (“RJIL”) and as prescribed by JPL from time to time.
In order to access any Channel Content on JioTV, you will be required to access/download and install JioTV on your Device. At the time of installation of JioTV on your Device, JioTV will require your permission to enable it to find the location of your Device, modify or delete contents from your storage, read phone statistics and identity, runtime permissions etc. You acknowledge that you are agreeable to providing such permissions, , failing which the Application access will be restricted or unusable.
You will login on the Application using your Jio User Account and an OTP based authentication or any other means as may be determined by JPL from time to time. You agree not to reveal your Jio User Account information including the user id, OTP and any other user credentials that may be authorised by JPL, to anyone. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Jio User Account and for all activities that occur on or through your Jio User Account. You agree to immediately notify JPL of any security breach of your user account. JPL shall not be responsible for any losses arising out of the unauthorized use of your Jio User Account. If JPL suspects any unauthorized activities on your Jio User Account or the Application, JPL may suspend the login to Application in the interest of your Jio User Account’s safety. You may reach out to JPL for activating your Application thereafter.
On logging on to JioTV in accordance with Clause 2 (iii) above, you shall be able to access/view/stream the Channel Content as per the license rights granted for such Channel Content. JPL may permit you to write comments/reviews/feedback regarding JioTV on social networking websites through the social networking capabilities incorporated in JioTV. You shall not post any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including, without limitation, any comments/reviews/feedback constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law or regulation. You give JPL express rights and consent to display your rating / review in relation to JioTV, including making it available to other members for viewing. These features may change without notice to you and the degrees of associated information sharing and functionality may also change without notice.
JPL is free at its sole discretion to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, reviews, or techniques or any other material contained in any communication you may send to us ("User Feedback"), including responses to questionnaires or through postings to the Application and user submissions or through email or otherwise, without further compensation, acknowledgement or payment to you for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, developing and marketing products and creating, modifying or improving JPL’s service offering including Application. By posting/submitting any User Feedback/user submission on the Application, you grant JPL a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, sub-licensable license and right in such User Feedback to JPL, including the right to display, use, reproduce, or modify the User Feedback in any media, software or technology of any kind now existing or developed in the future. JPL reserves the right to remove User Feedback at sole discretion and/or upon on request of any third party that such User Feedback may create liability for JPL or harm the reputation of JPL or are offensive, inappropriate, defamatory, obscene or libelous in nature or due to any change in JioTV made by JPL in its sole discretion.
You hereby agree that all rights, title and interests in JioTV vest with JPL or its licensors. Subject to your strict and full compliance with the terms and conditions herein, JPL grants to you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable, non-sublicensable, limited license to access or download, install and use the Application on Devices owned and controlled by you, and to access and use the Channel Content only for your own private, personal and non-commercial viewing through JioTV on such Devices, strictly in accordance with the terms of the Terms of Use. Except for the rights expressly stated herein, no other rights are granted to you with respect to the Application or the Channel Content, either by implication, estoppel, or otherwise. The Channel Content will be accessible to users, subject to availability of Channel Content rights with JPL and the user agrees that the Channel Content can be removed from the Application at JPL’s sole discretion without any liability on JPL whatsoever.
JPL, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to add additional features or functions, or to provide programming fixes, updates and upgrades, to JioTV (collectively "Upgrade"). You accept, acknowledge and agree that JPL has no obligation to make available to you any Upgrades or subsequent versions of JioTV. You also agree and accept that you will have to enter into a renewed version of this Terms of Use if you want to access/download, install or use an Upgrade or new version of JioTV. We request you to have updated Device to continue using JioTV on your Device and we do not assure that JioTV access/downloaded on your Device shall operate in case you fail to upgrade JioTV, or the Device is non-compatible.
All right, title and interest, including without limitation, copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights in and to the Application and any derivatives thereof are owned/licensed by JPL. This Terms of Use does not provide you with any ownership interest in the Application, Channel Content or with any other right other than as expressly set forth in this Terms of Use. The Application is protected under India and international copyright laws and treaties. You shall be strictly liable for any misuse or abuse of this Application/Channel Content in any manner. The same shall amount to piracy and / or infringement of Intellectual Property Rights and the appropriate legal and remedial action, as available, shall be initiated against You and appropriate damages and / or compensation shall be claimed by JPL.
You shall use the Application strictly in accordance with this Terms of Use and shall not: (a) decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or attempt to derive the source code of or in any manner decrypt the Application; (b) make any modification, adaptation or improvement, enhancement, or derivative work from the Application or incorporate any portion of the software into your own programs or compile any portion of it in combination with your own programs, transfer it for use with another service; (c) violate any applicable laws or regulations including but not limited to copyright act, import and export control laws and regulations in connection with your access or use of the Application or the Channel Content; (d) remove or obscure any proprietary notice (including any notice of copyright or trademark) forming a part of the Application or the Channel Content; (e) use the Application or the Channel Content for any revenue generation endeavor, or any other purpose for which it is not designed or intended; (f) install, use or permit the Application to exist on more than one Device at a time or on any other applicable device, other than by means of your separate downloads of the Application, each of which is subject to a separate license; (g) make available JioTV over a network or other environment permitting access or use by multiple users at the same time or where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time, whether or not the same is for commercial use; (h) use JioTV for data mining, scraping, crawling, redirecting, or for any purpose not in accordance with the terms of the Terms of Use; (i) use the Application to attempt to interfere with the proper display of the Channel Content; (j) use JioTV for undertaking any hacking activities like breaching or attempt to breach the security of another user or attempt to gain access to any other person's computer, software or data without the knowledge and consent of such person; (k) use JioTV for creating a service or software that is directly or indirectly, competitive with JioTV or any services offered by JPL; or (l) derive any confidential information, processes, data or algorithms from JioTV; (m) distribute or link JioTV or Channel Content being provided to multiple Devices, or websites or any digital application.
You also expressly agree not to engage in any use or activity that (a) may interrupt, destroy, alter, damage, delay, or limit the functionality or integrity of JioTV or the Channel Content including that of, any associated software, hardware, telecommunications or wireless equipment; (b) may manipulate identifiers, or numeric information to disguise the origin of any user, device, material or other information; (c) may interfere with the proper working of JioTV or prevent others from using JioTV; or (d) may delete the copyright and other proprietary rights notices on JioTV.
You agree not to use JioTV for any activity relating to infringement of any intellectual property rights, including any trademarks, service marks, or trade names, privacy rights, personality rights, or any other proprietary rights of any third party. You shall not use JioTV and access the Channel Content through JioTV outside the territory of the Republic of India, unless permitted by JPL. JPL shall have the right to use various technologies and digital rights management mechanisms to enforce this territorial restriction and/or to verify your compliance with this restriction.
Nothing contained herein shall be construed or implied to grant any right or license to use any trademarks, trade names, service marks or logos, which are a part of JioTV or the Channel Content, without the prior written consent of the owner of rights in such marks.
You agree not to incorporate the Channel Content into, or stream or retransmit the Channel Content via, any hardware or software application or make it available via frames or in-line links unless expressly permitted by JPL.
You shall not access the Channel Content by any means other than through JioTV. You shall, unless explicitly provided herein, neither directly nor through the use of any device, software, web-based service, or other means copy, download, stream capture, reproduce, duplicate, archive, distribute, upload, publish, re-publish, modify, translate, broadcast, perform, publicly display, sell, transmit or retransmit, edit, re-use, adapt, incorporate or create any derivative works of, any Channel Content accessed/streamed / viewed / downloaded from JioTV.
JPL does not endorse any Content made available through the Application, or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed thereon by any user and JPL expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with such views or opinions or comments provided by the users.
JPL shall use reasonable efforts to make the Channel Content available to the users, at all times through JioTV. However, the Channel Content is provided over the Internet, data and cellular networks and so the quality and availability of the same may be affected by factors outside JPL’s control. Accordingly, JPL does not accept any responsibility for unavailability of JioTV and/or Channel Content, at any time. JPL will not be responsible for any support or maintenance for the Application.
JioTV may contain advertising information or promotional material, or other material submitted to JPL by third parties. Responsibility for ensuring that material submitted for inclusion on the Application complies with applicable international and national law is exclusively on the party providing the information/material. Your correspondence or business dealings with, or participation in promotions of advertisers including payment and delivery of related goods or services, and any other terms, conditions, warranties or representations associated with such dealings, are solely between you and such advertiser. Before relying on any advertising material, you should independently verify its relevance for your purpose, and should obtain appropriate professional advice. JPL shall not be responsible nor liable for any loss or claim that you may have against an advertiser or any consequential damages arising on account of you relying on the contents of the advertisement.
You represent, warrant and covenant that You shall not lend, rent, lease, pledge, sub-license, distribute or allow others the access to JioTV in any manner. You further represent, warrant and covenant that you shall not record duplicate, cable cast, exhibit or further redistribute or use/display on social media or otherwise use the Channel Content in a manner prohibited under law. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country outside the territory of India and You undertake to not use JioTV or try to view the Channel Content anywhere outside the geographical boundaries of India unless permitted by JPL.
JioTV including Channel Content is/are being delivered to you as-is and JPL makes no warranty as to its merchantability, fitness, use or performance. It is further acknowledged that JPL has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to JioTV. You acknowledge and confirm that JPL is merely acting as a passive conduit to facilitate storage, transfer of the Channel Content and therefore JPL is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 as amended and the relevant rules made thereunder. JPL, its distributors and its suppliers do not warrant the merchantability, non- Infringement of third- party rights, fitness for a particular purpose or error-free performance or non-availability of any particular Channel Content, results you may obtain by using JioTV. It is further acknowledged by You that JPL, its distributors and its suppliers hereby disclaim any and all warranties, express or implied. In particular, JPL does not represent or warrant to you that your use of JioTV will be free from error or that any information obtained by you as a result of your use of JioTV will be accurate and reliable. JPL shall only be responsible for any product warranties to the extent so expressly stated herein this Terms of Use.
You shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless JPL, its Affiliates together with each of its and their directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all, losses, damages, liabilities, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs or expenses, demands, assessments, or payments of whatever kind, including reasonable attorneys' fees, disbursements and expenses that arise out of or relate to an action, arbitration, investigation, hearing, litigation or suit (whether civil, criminal, administrative, judicial or investigative, and whether public or private) commenced, brought, conducted or heard by or before, or otherwise involving, any governmental authority or arbitrator made, brought or asserted by a third party, including a governmental authority in connection with, or arising out of your misuse of JioTV and/or Channel Content or your breach of the terms of the Terms of Use or any other policy or any other restrictions or guidelines provided by JPL or any acts committed by you in violation of applicable laws, regulation or these terms. This indemnification obligation will survive this Terms of Use and Your use of JioTV / Channel Content.
YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK OF USING JIOTV AND THE CHANNEL CONTENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL JPL BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF PROFITS, INTERRUPTION OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE OR ACCESS, JIOTV OR THE CHANNEL CONTENT OR FOR ANY SECURITY BREACH OR ANY VIRUS, BUG, UNAUTHORIZED INTERVENTION, DEFECT, OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTIONING OF THE APPLICATION, WHETHER OR NOT FORESEEABLE OR WHETHER OR NOT JPL HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR BASED ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, INCLUDING BREACH OF CONTRACT OR WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORTIOUS ACTION, OR ANY OTHER CLAIM ARISING OUT, OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH, YOUR USE OF, OR ACCESS TO, JIOTV OR THE CHANNEL CONTENT. FURTHER, JPL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY TEMPORARY DISABLEMENT, PERMANENT DISCONTINUANCE OR MODIFICATION OF THE APPLICATION INCLUDING ITS FUNCTIONS OR FEATURES BY JPL OR FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES RESULTING FROM SUCH ACTIONS. JPL’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY (WHETHER UNDER CONTRACT, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE) AND THAT OF ITS AFFILIATES SHALL BE LIMITED TO ₹100/-.
JPL, in its sole discretion, may terminate or suspend your access to JioTV without any obligation to serve any prior notice and without any obligations or liabilities towards you or towards any third parties. This Terms of Use shall automatically terminate upon failure by you to comply with its terms. Upon termination of this Terms of Use, your access to Channel Content shall be disabled and you may no longer be able to use JioTV, unless reactivated by JPL at its sole discretion. The provisions of Sections 5,6,7,8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of this Terms of Use shall survive termination.
JPL shall be under no liability whatsoever in the event of non-availability of any portion of the Application or Content occasioned by act of God, war, disease, revolution, riot, civil commotion, strike, lockout, flood, fire, pandemic, epidemic, failure of any public utility, man-made disaster, laws or government action/order/direction, infrastructure failure, computer hacking, Device failures, lack of battery power on Device, unauthorized access to computer data and storage device, computer crashes, non-compatible Device, breach of security, lack of electricity, lack of telecommunications services/internet and encryption, etc., or any other cause whatsoever beyond the reasonable control of JPL.
This Terms of Use is governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India. The courts in Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear disputes arising out of the use of the Application.

None of the provisions of this Terms of Use shall be deemed to constitute a partnership, franchisee, joint venture, association of persons or agency between you and JPL and you shall have no authority to bind JPL in any manner, whatsoever.
This Terms of Use is governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India. The courts in Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear disputes arising out of the use of the Application.
Any failure by JPL to enforce this Terms of Use, for whatever reason, shall not necessarily be construed as a waiver of any right to do so at any time.
If any of the provisions of this Terms of Use are deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that part of the Terms of Use will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions of the Terms of Use.
This Terms of Use including the Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time, constitutes the entire agreement between the you and JPL and supersedes all prior understandings between you and JPL relating to the subject matter herein.
